How Many Headshots Do You Need?
To answer this question, you need to determine how you will use the headshots and what goal you want to achieve.
If you need a photo for your social media profile or your personal website, one
high-quality classic headshot can be enough. However, having a few photos available (with various outfits and backgrounds) might come in handy, especially
if you are working with different target audiences. And as an extra bonus, any photoshoot, even a headshot, is an opportunity to explore yourself.
Note! A classic headshot is a tightly cropped photo of the face, usually from the shoulders up, with the individual looking right in the camera for maximum connection with the viewer.
When a headshot is needed for marketing purposes – for example, a business card or a magazine ad – the format needs to be taken into consideration. It would be beneficial to know what the graphic design requirements might be. In some cases, a classic headshot can transform into a portrait photo, and in addition to shoulder up images we might also do a half-length, a 3/4, or a full body shot. It is also possible to use some props and furniture items.
A branding headshot expands beyond the solid paper background in a photo studio. Its goal is to share what you are passionate about, and it can include the elements of your lifestyle and occupation.
